Ghost Dance: An entry for the 2025 Level 1 Anthology How the West Was Lost
A downloadable game
This is a Project that was submitted for 9th level Games' "2025 Level 1 Anthology: How the West Was Lost" Contest.
Ghost Dance is a Roleplaying Game set in an alternate American West during the 1890s. In the Spring of 1895, an unknown number of Native American Tribes participated in a collective “Great Ghost Dance.” The dance culminated with the total eclipse of the moon on March 10th, 1895. The goal of the Great Ghost Dance was to weaken the barrier between Earth and the Spirit World, with a goal seeking assistance from the Spirit World in helping repel the White Man from their lands. Not only was this goal reached, but the barrier was ruptured in the Great Plains region of the American West. The lands between the Mississippi River in the East and the Rocky Mountains to the West are a desolate and nightmarish place. By day, the region is relatively quiet, with a chance of sunlight between mid-morning and mid-afternoon. At sunset, creatures from the Spirit World roam the landscape.
It is in this setting where PCs and GMs spin their yarns...
